Ryeowook nuzzled down into his blankets and yawned, slowly awakening to... silence? Then he finally remembered. It was his birthday, so his schedule had been cleared for the day. And everyone else must be out doing their thing.
He couldn't remember a time when their apartment had been this quiet, this empty.
He got up and made some breakfast, took a shower, read his email, and watched some tv. Little more than an hour had passed, and he was already bored.
He went over and started digging through the huge pile of movies by the television, but couldn't find anything he wanted to watch.
The door opened. "Magnae!!!!" He was jumped by Sungmin, Donghae, and Shindong. "Happy Birthday!!!" They all exclaimed.
"Are you having a fun day off?" Sungmin asked.
"Of course," Ryeowook replied, "But it's getting a little boring being all alone."
"Well, Sungmin and I have to be somewhere soon, but I think Donghae is staying for a while..." Shindong said.
Donghae nodded. Ryeowook grinned. "Great."
A little while later, Donghae and Ryeowook were alone in the apartment.
"So, what do you want to do, birthday boy?"
Ryeowook laughed, “Um, I was thinking about watching a movie...”
“Sounds good to me!” Donghae said, looking through the movies. “Ooh, Titanic, TITANIC!” He exclaimed, leaping to his feet, triumphantly, the dvd clutched in his hand.
Ryeowook shrugged. “I don’t really like that movie, but we can watch it if you want…”
Donghae gasped and stared at Ryeowook. “How could you not like Titanic????”
“I don't know, really...” Ryeowook said, making a face, “It just seems silly, the ending. I mean, she didn't even know him for that long, and yet she loved him her whole life, even after he was gone...”
Donghae was looking at him strangely.
“What?” Ryeowook finally exclaimed.
“Ryeowook, real, true love is everlasting. And some people are just meant to be together. Forever.”
Something about the way Donghae was staring into Ryeowook's eyes made the magnae’s heart skip a beat, and he felt his cheeks start to heat up.
Donghae turned his gaze back to the movie pile. "But you can pick anyway, since it's your birthday and all." ^_^
"Let's watch Titanic."
Donghae looked at him confusedly.
“Titanic,” Ryeowook repeated softly, “I feel like I should give it another chance. Try to see it the way you do.”
Donghae grinned at him. “Okay!”
By the end of the movie, Ryeowook was curled up in Donghae's lap, tears rolling down his face. Donghae looked down, and smiling, wiped a tear away.
"I told you."
All Ryeowook could do was nod.
